My own reproduction of a working Baghdad Battery (copper tube and iron bar not shown).
Baghdad battery is an artifact that may date back to 250 BC - AD 224. Although its uses are hypothetical e.g., electroplating or health stimulation, if it is indeed an electrochemical cell it would predate the invention by Volta (1800) by more than a millennium.. |
